Black Sand Beach

One of my favorite spots on our honeymoon. We walked forever across a volcanic plain, thinking we must have misread the guidebook, seeing no black sand beach. We finally crested a peak, and found out the hike was worth it. This beach used to have huge palm trees, before the volcanic flow overcame them, so a lady started bringing coconuts with her to the beach to plant. After she passed away, others continued the tradition. Bringing life back to beautiful desolation.
