Parents' Albums

Remember back in November when I said I had bought the paper for the parents' wedding albums I promised them?? Well, I finally finished them!! I was able to give them to Mom and Karen on Peter's and my 1 1/2 year anniversary, which seemed appropriate. I only scanned the pages from Mom's (I ran out of time) but they're both pretty much the same. The family-specific pictures are different in each album, but I mostly made two of the same page, one for each album. Okay, no more talk:

Perspective

So I had a request for a picture of me holding the blanket. This is an awful picture - it's at night, I had to use the timer, the lighting is horrible, and it came out blurry. But the blanket still looks awesome!

The weird thing at the bottom of the blanket is the tag I made - I'd already pinned it on when I remembered I wanted to take a picture. Here's the front of the tag:

And I put washing instructions on the back, since I went to a lot of trouble making sure the blanket would be machine washable!

Finally, I made a card to go with the blanket - I couldn't just buy a card, after everything else was homemade!! It's really simple --

And on the inside I just stamped "Congrats!" So, other than posting a picture of the wrapped package (I got really cute pink and blue gingham wrapping paper at Target - and I'm not really going to post a picture!), that's everything that's going to the shower tomorrow!!

Ta-Da!!

I finished the green blanket! It is way past my bed time, so I'm going to make this quick:

It is cast off, all the ends are woven in, and it's ready to be wrapped! There are many places you can tell it's handmade by an amateur, but that's the point, right? Okay, time for bed.

Roomy Purse

I finally finished the purse I started on Sunday. Though things were a little shaky at first, I really like how it came out. The outer material is from the same pair of pants I used to make this zipper pouch, and the lining is some of the fabric I bought on my recent shopping spree. The basic tutorial is from the Craftster.org Forum. Okay, here are some pictures.

The outside of the bag:

The button closure I made:

And the inside, already filled with my stuff so you can get a sense of the size of the bag:

In knitting news, I have 10 rows left on the green baby blanket! I'm going to do a few more before bed, so I should finish tomorrow night! Yay!!
